Feel Your Voice
Before you control your voice — you need to feel it.
Singing isn’t just about sound. It’s about sensation.
Where does your voice vibrate? How does breath move through your body? Can you feel the difference between tension and flow?
Tuning into your voice like this activates your interoception — your inner sense of what’s going on inside you.
It helps you sing more freely, stay grounded, and connect emotionally to your sound.
(Plus, it makes your practice way more intuitive and fun.)
Let’s get out of the head, and into the body.

How to do it

Close your eyes and take a few different kinds of breaths.
Try a relaxed sigh, a deep belly breath, and a soft inhale through the nose.
Notice where you feel movement — chest, ribs, belly?

Now gently add sound.
Make an easy “mmm” like you’re tasting something yummy.
Then try a soft “ah” — like a sigh. Keep it gentle and short.

Notice where the sound vibrates.
Do you feel it in your chest? Throat? Nose? Face?
There’s no wrong answer — just observe.

Visualize your sound as a soft wave.
Imagine it traveling forward from your mouth, like ripples in water.
Feel it gently expanding outward — not forced, just flowing. -
This helps you connect with your chest voice — the part of your voice that lives in your body and feels grounded and strong when supported.
